Duxbury Youth Cheerleading will hold its annual registration for all
children entering grades two through eight in the fall. Registration
will be held Saturday March 15, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Thursday March 25,
6 p.m. thru 9 p.m. in the Merry Room of the Duxbury Free Library.

The Rec. Dept. will hold registration on March 3 – March 15, Mon.
through Fri. from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. only. There will also be a Thursday
night registration on March 6 from 6-8 p.m. There will be a Saturday
registration on March 15 from 9-11 a.m. Checks only; cash will not be
accepted. Make checks payable to “Town of Duxbury.”

Coach Gordon Cushing couldn’t have been more upset than he was after
watching his boys’ basketball team hand the Hingham Harbormen a 75-70
overtime victory last Tuesday night in Duxbury.

The Duxbury High School girls’ ski team and two members of the boys’
squad have qualified for the MIAA State Alpine Skiing Championships at
Wachusett Mt. on Feb 26.

Every single point mattered when the boys went after the Patriot
League swim title, and they came up just three short when
Scituate/Cohasset edged the Dragons, 314-311, for the league crown at
Middleboro High School.

Add one more important victory to the record of the girls’ swim
team, as they dominated their rivals with 427 points at the Patriot
League Championships at Middleboro High School. Duxbury was ahead from
the first event and won seven of 11 events, and took second in four
others. Scituate/Cohasset was second with 210 points.

If being within a loss of surrendering a Division I State championship
wasn’t enough to motivate Coach John Blake’s team on Monday night in
Braintree, then what can the Duxbury coach expect this weekend when his
squad plays in the Cape Cod Classic against the likes of Austin Prep
and several other Division I powers?

The Gettysburg College wrestling team scored pins in three of its first
four matches en route to a 24-12 Centennial Conference dual-meet
victory over visiting McDaniel College at Bream Gymnasium. Freshman
Jack Bostrom (DHS ’07) set the tone early by scoring two near falls in
the first round of his 133-pound match with Tim Hall before earning his
first collegiate pin with just under a minute remaining in the second
round…

volunteer aquatics coaches to help support its Special Olympics

The Duxbury boys’ swim team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with
a 90-65 victory over Silver Lake, as several underclassmen showed their
swimming prowess by winning five individual events and contributing on
relays.

for 10 straight meets and win all of them. That’s why it has been a
special year for the Duxbury girl’s swim team as it ended it’s regular
season undefeated at 10-0.

The DHS girls’ hockey team made it to the play-offs by virtue of last
week’s 4-1 win over Marshfield, bringing its record to 9-4-3 and
guaranteeing them at least a .500 record with five games to play.
