Successful sailing season

The Duxbury High School sailing team has had an extremely successful season to date this spring. The varsity team has dominated their league with an undefeated record of six wins and no losses. They had key wins against Cape Cod Academy, St. John’s Prep, BBN, Hotchkiss, Milton, Portsmouth Abbey, Sharon, BC High, Hingham, Winchester and Barnstable.

Lady Dragons take care of Cougars

Duxbury Coach Bob Sullivan called Notre Dame the best 10-10 team in the state. But that didn’t seem to scare his Lady Dragon basketball team, as they treated the Cougars like they would any other .500 team and dominated inside in the first eight minutes while on their way to a 57-39 semifinal win at Massasoit Community College on Wednesday night in Brockton.

Genereux medals at New Englands

DHS senior wrestling captain Jake Genereux made it to the second day of competition at the New England Wrestling Championships in Providence, RI on Saturday, but his hopes of making it to the finals were shattered in a 1-0 loss to Connecticut state champion Zach Maxwell in the quarterfinals.

The Duxbury girls’ basketball team opened its post-season journey with a convincing 65-44 win over No. 13 seeded Hopkinton on Wednesday night in Duxbury. The win sends the Lady Dragons into Saturday afternoon’s quarterfinal action in Duxbury against No. 5-seeded Fontbonne Academy of Milton.
