People run for office on their credentials. I proudly state mine:

• BS-ED-Framingham State College. 1955

• MS-ED-Simmons College, 1964

• Classes every year with the Massachusetts Town Clerks Association and, beginning in 1999, a program which earns for the clerks who apply every four years, a CMMC (Certified MA Municipal Clerk) title. So I am a CMMC. These are framed and hung in my office. We must take a certain number of required classes and pass a test. I have done this four times since 1999 and am currently all set for Oct 2011 - 2015. And all along I thought I was considered a professional.
