Michele Danielle Whalen and Justin John Rachwalski were married Nov. 5, 2011, at St. Paul Parish in Cambridge.

Michele, daughter of Robert and Donna Whalen of Cherry Hill, N.J., is a graduate of Villanova University and New England School of Law.  She currently works in the Office of the General Counsel at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston.  Justin, son of John and Fostira Rachwalski of Duxbury, is a graduate of Brown University and MIT Sloan School of Management.   He currently works in Strategy at Google in Cambridge.

Marlene and Tom Biffar of Jacksonville, Fla. (formerly of Duxbury) announce the engagement of their son, Michael, to Patsy Tobey, daughter of David and Wanda Johnson of Wareham.  Michael is a 1998 graduate of Duxbury High School and a 2003 graduate of Curry College. Patsy graduated from Wareham High School in 2000 and Bridgewater State College in 2005. A summer 2013 wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lewis of Standish Street announce the engagement of their son Timothy to Elsie Hovey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hovey of Rocky Hill, Connecticut and the late Dorothy Hovey. An August 2012 wedding is planned.

Linda and Frank Kacmar of Duxbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Kacmar, to Andrew Stephen DeCastro, son of Paula Fillion of Rumford, R.I. and Stephen DeCastro of Seekonk.

Lauren is a 2001 graduate of Duxbury High School and received her degree from Smith College in 2005.  She is currently employed by HomeServe USA as a marketing manager.

Andrew is a 2000 graduate of LaSalle Academy in Rhode Island and received his degree from Hamilton College in 2005.  He is currently employed by HomeServe USA as the Vice President of M&A.

The couple resides in Stamford, Conn. and will marry in Newport, R.I. in November, 2012.

Linda and Frank Kacmar of Duxbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Alison Rachel Kacmar, to Robert (Beau) Bradley Setterbo, II, son of Kate O’Neill of Satellite Beach, Fla. and Robert Setterbo of Walnut Creek, Calif.

Alison is a 2003 graduate of Duxbury High School and received her degree from Emmanuel College in 2007.  Beau is a 1997 graduate of Satellite High School and received degrees from the University of California at San Diego, and the University of San Diego School of Law.

The couple resides in San Diego, Calif. and will be married at the Pilgrim Church in Duxbury on August 2, 2012.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bourgault of Plymouth announce the engagement of their son Bryan to Alison Whitla of Medway.  Bryan is a 2001 graduate of Duxbury High School and a 2004 graduate of James Madison University.  He is the assistant communications director at Stand for Children in Waltham.  Alison is the daughter of Karen Whitla of Medway and the late C. Stuart Whitla, Jr.  She is a 2003 graduate of Medway High School and a 2007 graduate of Wheaton College.  She is employed by IDEO in Cambridge.  The couple are planning a June wedding in Chatham.

Richard and Kathy Prone of Duxbury announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Prone to Ian Kynoch of Hertfordshire, England, the son of Gil and Marilyn Kynoch.  Lauren is a 2001 graduate of Duxbury High School and graduated from Ithaca College in 2005 with BAs in psychology and Spanish.  She is currently completing an internship in Barcelona, Spain, as a candidate for a Masters of Arts in international education.

Lauren Nickerson and Ilan Behm were married on June 12, 2011 at the Sailing Camp Park on Martha’s Vineyard. Lauren, daughter of John and Terri Nickerson of Duxbury, is a 2001 graduate of Duxbury High School, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Westfield State College in 2005. She is director of delegate recruitment at Tech Target in Newton. The bride’s sister, Jamie Nickerson, was maid of honor.

Ilan, son of Eric and Orna Behm, of Woodmere, New York, received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Tufts University. He is currently a data analyst at Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. The bridegroom’s brother, Adam Behm, served as best man.

After a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple is living in Sharon.

Juliette Winship Brush and Jonathan Hayward Slack were married on June 11, 2011 at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School. Julie is the daughter of David and Candida Brush of Duxbury and Jon is the son of Jim and Peggy Slack of Westborough. The Rev. Roger Nelson, the bride’s great uncle, officiated at the ceremony. Lucy and Emily Brush, sisters of the bride, were maids of honor, and Erin Winter, sister-in-law of the bride was a bridesmaid.  Justin Slack, brother of the bridegroom was best man, while Mark Turner and Bryan Winter served as groomsmen. Shane Winter, nephew of the bride and bridegroom was the ring bearer. The couple honeymooned in Greece and reside in Stoneham.

Thomas Protasewich and Rachel Mongeau were married on Oct. 29, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Fryeberg, Maine.  The Reverend Paul Dumais officiated at the Mass. A reception immediately following the ceremony was held at the Wentworth Inn in Jackson, N.H. The bride was given in marriage by her father.  She was joined by her sister and matron of honor, Jenny Laine. Bridesmaids were Kate Duval, Emily Mongeau, Rebecca Mongeau, sisters of the bride; Danielle Hugill, sister of the bridegroom; and Kate Basque, cousin of the bride. The best men were Mike and Chris Protasewich, brothers of the bridegroom.  Groomsmen were Chris Hugill, brother-in-law of the bridegroom; Kevin Protasewich, cousin of the bridegroom; Sam Mongeau, brother of the bride; Mike Duval and Scott Laine, brothers-in-law of the bride. A weekend to remember commenced with the fall foliage and concluded with the first snowfall of the season.

Tom is the son of Joanne and Ron Protasewich of Duxbury.  Rachel is the daughter of Patty and Peter Mongeau of Westborough. Tom and Rachel, 2007 graduates of UMass Amherst, met on a service trip to New Orleans in 2006. Tom is the general manager of Restaurant Hola in Marshfield. Rachel is an RN in the emergency room at Mass General Hospital. Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple resides in Squantum.

David and Candida Brush of Duxbury announce the engagement of their daughter Lucy Drummond Brush to Mark Brian Turner of Niantic, Conn., the son of Phil and Sherry Turner.  Lucy graduated from Duxbury High School in 2001 and Newbury College in 2005, with a BS in psychology.  She currently works as a customer care manager at SmartPak Equine in Plymouth.  Mark graduated from East Lyme High School, and completed his BS in business administration from Boston University in 2005.  He is employed as a senior financial analyst at Sapient Corporation in Boston.  A June 2012 wedding is planned in Brookline.

Robert and Jan Cochrane of Duxbury announce the engagement of their daughter Lacey E. Cochrane to Matthew W. Parker, son of Michael and Susan Parker of Flowery Branch, Ga. Lacey is a graduate of Holy Cross and Boston College with a Master’s of Science in nursing. Matthew is a graduate of Boston University and Georgetown University School of Medicine. The couple is planning a spring 2012 wedding.

Tim Farrell and Jill Scahill Farrell celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Nantucket where they had spent their honeymoon. They were married on Sept. 18, 2010 at the Kelley Chapel in Yarmouthport. A reception followed at the Scahill family home in Harwich.  Jill and Tim live in New Castle, N. H.

Frank Kemp of Washington Street announces the engagement of his daughter, Katherine Quincy Kemp, to John Malcuit, son of Don and Diane Malcuit of Park Ridge, N.J.

Lyndsay Murray (DHS 2000) and Stephen Ajemian (DHS 2000) were married on Oct. 1, 2011 at the Harvard Faculty Club.  The bride’s sister, Laura Murray (DHS ’91), acted as officiant.

Mr. and Mrs. Eric S. Johnson of Duxbury, announce the marriage of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth to Shawn Michael Murphy, Esq., son of Margaret Murphy and Thomas Murphy of Auburn, N.Y., on Aug. 6, 2011 at St. Paul’s Parish in Hingham, followed by a reception at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset.

Elspeth Kelley Laird and Travis Mitchell Allen were wed on Oct. 15, 2011 on the lawn overlooking Duxbury Bay where Ellie’s late grandmother, Louise Kelley wed her grandfather Eric Pape in 1947.

Michael and Jean Ducinski of Duxbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie to Daniel Therrien, son of Stephen and Jane Therrien of Duxbury.  Jamie and Dan are 2006 graduates of Duxbury High School and 2010 graduates of Bridgewater State University.  Jamie is a personal trainer at Duxbury Fitness and Dan is an operations analyst with L. Knife and Sons.  A July 2012 wedding is planned.

Glenn and Sarah Bushee of Duxbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Bushee, to Bill Foley of Portsmouth, R.I., son of Bill and Mary Foley of Portsmouth, R.I.  Whitney, a 2008 graduate of Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I., is a graphic designer in the advertising department at CVS Caremark in Woonsocket, R.I.  Bill, a 2005 graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine, is a Vice President in commercial real estate for Bank of America in Providence, R.I.  An August 2012 wedding is planned in Portsmouth, R.I.

Amy Leigh Barker and James (Jay) Garrett Williams were married on April 9, 2011 at the Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Barker of Grayson, Ga. and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Williams of Duxbury.
