Robert Gardiner (“Bo”) Wilson, III, 79, of Marshfield, formerly of Duxbury, died suddenly on Feb. 3, 2012. Mr. Wilson was born Nov. 26, 1932 to the late Hon. Robert Gardiner Wilson, Jr., and Florence R. Wilson of Wellesley Hills. He graduated from Kimball Union Academy, and Middlebury College, Class of 1955. He was married to the Hon. Sara Holmes Wilson and to the late Robin Frey Wilson. Prior to graduation from Suffolk Law School in 1960, Mr. Wilson worked as a probation officer in the Dorchester District Court. He started his own private practice in Boston in 1961, which he continued until his death. He took particular interest in sports, both as a participant and later as a coach and supporter of youth sports. In 1970, he was a co-founder of Duxbury Youth Football. He was also active in Masonic and Shrine organizations, being a Past Master of Joseph Webb Lodge, a Past Commander of Boston Commandary No. 2, and a Past Potentate of the Alleppo Temple. He served for many years on the Board of Governors of the Shriners Burns Institute, Boston. Mr. Wilson leaves his daughters, Constance Enniss of Duxbury and Sara Marshall of Littleton, N.H.; his sons, Robert Gardiner Wilson, IV, of Chelsea, and John C. Wilson of Boston; his sisters Ruth W. Cann of Annapolis, Diana Frazier of Taunton, and Mary Wilson of Amesbury; and 10 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 404 Washington St., Duxbury. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Wilson’s memory may be made to the Duxbury Gridiron Club, P.O. Box 2586, Duxbury MA 02331, an organization that supports Duxbury High School Football.
