Brian and Eileen Donnelly are packing their bags for a trip to Russia. But this isn’t a vacation for the two college professors –– they are headed across the world to lecture.

They were always there, hints about Duxbury’s past, hidden just a few inches in the dirt.

The four sailboats of the ACCESSAIL program glided over the calm waters of Duxbury Bay Saturday afternoon, racing around two giant orange inflatable buoys. The programs participants were technically racing, but they were having so much fun the program’s director had to remind them to come back to the Duxbury Bay Maritime School, where a barbecue was waiting.

The dispute over the failure to renew the contract of DHS lacrosse coach Chris Sweet had the whole town boiling. But in the end, it was a face-to-face meeting between two people that led to a solution.

The long-running dispute with developer Charles Tringale over land clearing fees has been settled –– but members of the Planning Board aren’t happy about it.

With members ranging from senior citizens to seniors in high school, the South Shore Bay Band has chalked up another successful summer concert series and awarded several students with scholarships to continue their music careers.

The Duxbury Free Library held a pet contest on the high school lawn last Wednesday. All manner of creatures were on display, from housecats to guinea pigs and even a couple frogs! Clipper Editor Justin Graeber participated in the show as a judge and took these photos.
