Man charged in connection with burglary spree

A 34-year-old Plymouth man has been charged in connection with the recent burglaries of homes in Duxbury, Kingston, Rochester and Middleboro, according to Duxbury police.

Jason Parsons broke into the Lincoln Street home of a Duxbury police officer on Dec. 10 and fled after the officer discovered him in the home. Parsons has also been charged in connection with attempted burglaries in Kingston and Pembroke on the same day.

There were additional break-ins in Rochester and Middleboro following the Dec. 10 burglary spree. In Rochester, an observant neighbor recorded the license plate number of a vehicle leaving a house after witnessing suspicious activity.

Duxbury Police Chief Matthew Clancy said, thanks to a video surveillance system and the work of detectives from Kingston, Middleboro and Rochester, an arrest warrant was issued for Parsons.

Clancy said Parsons may also be connected to a couple burglaries in Plympton and may be a person of interest in connection with a series of burglaries in Pembroke. Parsons has a history with law enforcement, police said.

The warrant generated for the Kingston break-in led to Parsons arrest. He was arrested at his home in Plymouth and charged with burglary, felony malicious destruction of property and assault and battery related to the Dec. 10 incident. Parsons is currently incarcerated at the Department of Corrections in Bridgewater on charges related to another case.
